The North American Soccer Reporters selected Galaxy goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts as Major League Soccer’s top player during week four.

Ricketts, starting his first MLS game, recorded five saves and faced 12 shots as Los Angeles and Chivas USA played to a 0-0 tie Saturday.

I voted for Guillermo Barros Schelotto, who scored and led a potent Columbus attack in a 1-1 tie against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.

There was no one performance that, statistically, shouted to be recognized this week, so the NASR members’ votes were all over the place.

Ricketts received seven of the 25 votes cast. In addition to him and Schelotto, here are the players who received votes in week four:

Jamison Olave, Salt Lake

Robbie Findley, Salt Lake

Chris Rolfe, Chicago

Marco Pappa, Chicago

Stefan Frei, Toronto

Javier Morales, Salt Lake

Pablo Ricchetti, Dallas

Alec Dufty, New York

Davy Arnaud, Kansas City
