I fear you are correct. It annoys me, but I understand the deal MLS made in bringing Becks here.

I think Becks is doing whatever he wants. The MLS knew what they were getting in to, breaking lots of traditions to make sure it happened. I don't regret the deal, any interest in soccer in America is good in my mind. There is no doubt that he has had a positive influence on attendance. You can read more about the growth of MLS here:

Another blog put together some numbers on how often teams have played each other. The most played match-up? Colorado vs. LA.

http://usasoccer.blogspot.com/2009/04/most-frequent-mls-matchups.html

According to Climbing the Ladder the two teams have faced each other 62 times, more than any other MLS pair. I do feel like LA is a rival of ours. Until Salt Lake showed up they were the team I hated the most, followed closely by Dallas. This year MLS messed up. They tilted the schedule to favor bigger markets after Becks returns. After Beckham's return LA goes to NYC, goes to Boston, goes to Chicago, goes to DC...then goes to Columbus so it isn't 100% bigger markets. But you see my point.

It is time for MLS to follow the logic of the rest of the soccer world when putting together the schedule.

You see Bex is bi (coastal)

Arena: Then we'll play the Colorado Rapids...

Bex: Brucey - this Colorado?

Arena: Yes, Bex?

Bex: What coast is that on?

Arena: (Arm around the shoulder) Well, you see David, the USA is a little bit bigger than England, and it has these uh, "bumps" in the middle of it. Oh, don't look so concerned, its not as bad as Manchester.

It is not a conspiracy theory to say that MLS bends the schedule to draw the most fans and make the most money as possible. If that wasn't the case the Rapids wouldn't have already finished their season series against LA. Yes, we've finished our season series against a western conference foe who should be considered a rival. MLS needs to increase transparency in scheduling by working more like every other league in the world where you play each team in the league in the first half of the season and then play them again in the second half of the schedule. The way the league creates the schedule now makes it look like a farce.

why shouldn't they make as much money off him as possible? I'm sure it was done on purpose and I see nothing wrong with it.
