Colorado Rapids forward Conor Casey, who registered three goals against the Galaxy on Saturday in Carson, Calif., was voted Major League Soccer’s Player of the Week for week three.
This marks the second time Casey has received the honor. Previously he won in week 27 of the 2008 season after he notched his first career hat trick in a 5-4 victory over the New York Red Bulls.
The player-of-the-week award is selected by a panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters. Here are my votes for week three:

Conor Casey scored three goals, including the winning goal in the 84th minute, as the Colorado Rapids scored a rare road victory in Southern California, beating the Galaxy 3-2 on Saturday.

The Colorado Rapids will return to Southern California and play the Los Angeles Galaxy on Tuesday for a U.S. Open Cup play-in game.
The U.S. Open Cup game will be one of three meetings between the teams this month. The Rapids and Galaxy had a scheduled Major League Soccer fixture Saturday night at the Home Depot Center, and the Galacticos will visit Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on April 25.
Tuesday’s Rapids-Galaxy match is the first of four U.S. Open Cup play-in games for MLS squads. The other matchups feature Dallas at D.C. …

How about that attendance at Thursday night’s RSL-Crew game in Salt Lake City? Officially, it was 11,806. From what I could see from the television camera angles of the far side of Rio Tinto Stadium and the two end zones, the actual number of butts in seats may have been half that.
