With Saturday’s 1-0 shutout of Dallas, Houston has climbed into a tie for third place with the Rapids in the Western Conference.

After failing to collect a victory in eight attempts (in all competitions) since Feb. 15, the Dynamo has strung together three shutouts. The current string began with a 1-0 victory over the Rapids on April 19 at Houston. The Dynamo also has two ties in Major League Soccer fixtures.

The Rapids, who have 11 points in the standings on three wins and two ties after seven games, had a bye this week.

The Galaxy visits Seattle on Sunday afternoon. If the Glax win, they’ll have 11 points, too; if the Sounders win, they’ll get some separation from the pack with 16 points.

Chivas USA is in first place in the league with seven victories and one tie for 22 points in nine games. Only two teams have scored on Chivas this season; the Rapids lost 2-1 to the Goats at the Home Depot Center in the season opener.
