My vote for player of the week

Here’s my ballot for player of the week. It’s not obvious by the statistics (cuz if we’re just looking at stats, two goals in one game in 2009 is a bad game for Keller), but Keller was the week’s best player. In postgame interviews, Gary Smith and Sigi Schmid both spoke about Keller being the key to the match:

PLAYER NAME: Kasey Keller, Seattle Sounders

SECOND: Amado Guevara, Toronto FC

COMMENTS: Keller is the only reason the Sounders are alone in second place, instead of being tied with the Rapids. Best performance by a goalkeeper in MLS that I’ve seen since Joe Cannon wore a Rapids crest on his shirt and the team played at Invesco Field.

Would it be beyond the realm of possibility that Keller is picked to play for the US MNT in the Confederations’ Cup or Gold Cup? Or is he definitively retired from international play? Also, Pickens is looking very good and I see possibilities for him in those competitions.

if keller were asked, i don’t know what his answer would be. he might be done with the whole thing. but i’m not sure bradley would ask. i have read in multiple places that pickens is on the radar.
