Omar wins goal of the week

Omar Cummings is the first Rapids player to win the Major League Soccer goal-of-the-week award this season.

Cummings struck the equalizer late in the Rapids’ 1-1 tie at Salt Lake on Saturday. Yura Movsisyan’s goal from the same game also was nominated and can be seen a little lower on that MLS highlights page.

About George: George Tanner fell in love with the Tampa Bay Rowdies and the North American Soccer League while living in the Tampa, Fla., area in the mid-1970s.
