A day after the Colorado Rapids announced they’d acquired Pat Noonan for a draft pick and some cash, The Tuesday List takes a look at his goal-scoring production through the years.

2009, Columbus, 5 games, 0 goals
2008, Columbus, 11 games, 1 goal
2007, New England, 27 games, 7 goals
2006, New England, 14 games, 1 goal
2005, New England, 21 games, 8 goals
2004, New England, 29 games, 11 goals
2003, New England, 28 games, 10 goals

That’s a total of 38 goals in 135 regular-season games for Noonan. In addition, he’s scored five goals in 17 playoff appearances, all for New England.

There’s been some debate on the Web site about where Noonan will fit in the Rapids’ plans. The MLS Web site lists him as a forward. I’ve always considered him more versatile than being pegged in that one position. We’ll see where the Rapids play him. They tell me he’ll be available on Saturday night against D.C. United. But, considering how thin the Rapids are up top and how flush they are in the midfield, my guess is that we’ll see him as a striker with the Rapids, whenever that may be.

You’ve gotta think he plays up top when Omar or Conor (or both) are gone and he takes Ballouchy’s spot in midfield when they are both there.
