The Colorado Rapids have waived forward Gregory Richardson.

Richardson appeared in one game for the Rapids this season, playing 11 minutes in the season opener against Chivas USA on March 21. He also played 90 minutes in Colorado’s U.S. Open Cup play-in match against Seattle on May 26.

Richardson’s rights were acquired by the Rapids in a trade with Toronto FC on Feb. 27, and the Guyana forward was signed by Colorado on March 20.

This move could be to make room for French defender Julien Baudet, whose name is already on a locker in the Rapids’ dressing room.

UNBEATEN STREAK AT SIX: Lisa Franke scored on a bicycle kick in the 14th minute as the Colorado Force stretched its unbeaten streak to six matches, earning a 1-1 tie against the Seattle Sounders on Friday in Tukwila, Wash. Michelle French netted the equalizer on a penalty kick in the 58th minute. It was the second time French has hurt the Force this season: In the Force’s season opener in May, she scored the only goal in a 1-0 Seattle victory. Colorado outshot Seattle 15-6 on Friday, and Force midfielder Nikki Marshall led the way with five shots, including one that hit the post. Force goalkeeper Maria Del Guercio registered three saves. The Force, 1-1-5 for eight points, is in fourth place in the W-League’s Western Conference. Second-place Seattle moves to 3-0-4 and 13 points. The Force will travel to Vancouver, British Columbia for a Sunday match against the Vancouver Whitecaps.

W-LEAGUE HONORS: Franke, who scored twice in a 2-0 victory over Los Angeles on Sunday, has been selected to the W-League’s team of the week. Check out all the players here.

MLS HONORS: I have nominated Rapids striker Omar Cummings for Major League Soccer player of the month. Here’s what I wrote: “I would like to nominate Omar Cummings, Colorado Rapids, for player of the month for June. With Conor Casey in South Africa for the Confederations Cup and with the national team for a World Cup qualifier, Cummings has more than picked up the slack. He scored the tying goal LATE against Real Salt Lake, he scored twice (including the winning goal) and added an assist against D.C. United and he scored the tying goal LATE against FC Dallas. He is scoring clutch goals and lots of goals, and the Rapids are winning. Speed, leadership and skill. The Rapids are unbeaten at home and are in the middle of an impressive unbeaten string. And the month isn’t over yet.”

AND SPEAKING OF CASEY … The Rapids striker talks to the Rapids Undercurrent from South Africa, where the U.S. national team will take on Brazil on Sunday! Here’s the link.

CHECK OUT THIS SITE: If you have questions about soccer shoes (or boots or cleats or whatever you want to call them), former MLS player Bryan Byrne has the answers. Byrne, a former member of the New England Revolutin, reviews cleats on Soccer Cleats 101. Go there. Now! Byrne has created an impressive amount of information on a specific topic.

IT’S BOUNA TIME! Former Rapids goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul is on trial with New York, and he tells Brian Lewis of blogs.nypost.com that he considers the Red Bulls home: “It’s good to be home. I know pretty much everyone in Red Bulls organization. Coming here, training and doing what I normally do comes naturally. So far, so good.” He also seems to verify the rumors that the Philadelphia Union has been interested in signing him. Read the whole story here.

ROADRUNNER SOCCER CAMPS: The Metropolitan State College women’s soccer program will host two camps, both running July 13-16. The skillbuilder camp runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day and is designed to enhance each player’s technical abilities through small-sided games and activities. The other camp, for advanced players and goalkeepers, runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Roadrunners head coach Adrianne Almaraz and assistant coach Andrew Current will be the camp coordinators. Almaraz helped the Roadrunners reach the NCAA semifinals during the 2008 season in her first year as head coach. As a player, she won a national championship at Metro State in 2004 and won another national championship in 2006 as an assistant coach with the Roadrunners. For more information, visit www.roadrunnersoccer.net
