The Colorado Rapids have loaned three players to USL clubs.
Goalkeeper Steward Ceus has gone to the Charlotte Eagles of the Second Division for the remainder of the season. Ceus made his debut for the Eagles on June 20 in a 2-2 draw with Richmond.
Defender Michael Holody goes on loan to Real Maryland, the Rapids’ partner club in the Second Division, until Aug. 31.
Defender Ty Harden will join the First Division’s Rochester Rhinos until July 25.
BOUNA IN NEW YORK: The Rapids have sold the rights to goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul to the New York Red Bulls for an undisclosed amount of allocation money. Coundoul played in 52 matches for the Rapids from 2005 to 2008, registered 189 saves and posted a 1.16 goals-against average. He compiled a 17-22-12 record with the Rapids.
PRESS CLIPPING: The Greeley Tribune’s Sam Mustari recently wrote a feature on Taryn Hemmings, a standout for Greeley West High School, the University of Denver and the Real Colorado Cougars. She’s considering a career in Women’s Professional Soccer. “The pro tryouts are in January and February, so by then I’ll have to figure out what I want to do,” she told Mustari.
