Marshall named W-League’s player of the week

The United Soccer Leagues has honored Nikki Marshall as W-League player of the week for her three-goal performance in two victories by the Colorado Force.

Marshall scored both goals for the Force in a 2-1 road victory against the Los Angeles Legends on July 14. Three days later she scored winning goal for the Force in a 3-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Force finished the regular season with three consecutive victories and qualified for the playoffs. The team faces the undefeated Pali Blues tonight in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

The Blues were the champions of the Western Conference.
