Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference coaches have predicted that Fort Lewis College will win the conference’s men’s soccer title.

The Skyhawks, who won the 2008 RMAC title and earned a bid to the Division II tournament, received six first-place votes and landed five players on the preseason all-conference team. Olgie Kennedy is the interim head coach this season; he replaces former Colorado Rapids coach Tim Hankinson, who left to coach a professional team in India.

Metropolitan State College is second in the preseason poll. The Roadrunners also went to last season’s NCAA tournament.

Colorado School of Mines is third.

Adams State begins men’s soccer this year but will not play an RMAC schedule until 2010.
