The Denver Dynamite’s second year in the Professional Arena Soccer League will be marked by change.

The team bounced between venues last year but will play the upcoming season at the Bladium Sports Club.

Joe SaPereira and Mac Howell return as owners but will be joined by Chuck Estrada. Howell, the team’s media director, created a new logo, which you can see on the right side of this page.

There’s also a new coach: John Wells, who finished last season as the head coach of the Colorado Lightning. Chuck Estrada returns as technical director and goalkeeper coach. Last year the Dynamite made the PASL-Pro playoffs with a 9-7 record, falling to Tigres Dorados MRCI Oaxaca 10-9 in the quarterfinals of the North American championships despite a fourth-quarter comeback attempt.

Assistant coach Jeremy Gibe is not returning to the team. He elected to go to Iraq as a contractor. “We would like to acknowledge Jeremy Gibe’s contributions and involvement with the squad,” SaPereira said. “He was supportive to the team and provided an added value to the team’s maturing. We wish Jeremy the best of luck in his future endeavors and will welcome him back to the team when the time comes.”

Another change involves the Dynamite’s developmental teams. Their primary PASL-Premier affiliate will be the Highlands Ranch Heat. The Heat recently made its debut in the Premier Summer League. The Dynamite Reserves will be replaced by the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. The Heat will play winter and summer seasons, and the Arsenal will play only in the summer.

Season tickets are on sale at dynamitesoccer.com.
