RMAC all-academic women, men

Fort Lewis College goalkeeper Zane Wells and Colorado School of Mines goal scorer Kayla Mitchell have been named the men’s and women’s academic soccer players of the year by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Wells is a senior majoring in Spanish and economics, and he carries a 3.68 grade-point average. He has allowed seven goals in 14 games and leads the conference with seven shutouts.
Mitchell, a senior majoring in civil engineering, has a 3.62 GAA. She leads the RMAC in shots (98 in 17 games), goals (22) and points (51).
To qualify for the RMAC all-academic team, student-athletes must have a GPA of at least 3.30, be a starter or reserve and have completed two consecutive semesters or three quarters at their current institution. Sports information directors at RMAC schools that have soccer teams selected the first and second teams.
