mitchell header Colorado School of Mines goal scorer Kayla Mitchell, in blue at left, and Fort Lewis College goalkeeper Zane Wells have been named the men’s and women’s academic soccer players of the year by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Wells is a senior majoring in Spanish and economics, and he carries a 3.68 grade-point average. Mitchell, a senior majoring in civil engineering, has a 3.62 GAA. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has announced that the 2009 RMAC women’s soccer championship will be hosted by Metropolitan State College of Denver on Nov. 6 and 8 at Auraria Field in downtown Denver.
