Omar Cummings delivered a historic goal as the Rapids won an opening game on the road for the first time in club history. Prior to beating Chivas USA 1-0 on Friday night, the Rapids were a dismal 2-10-2 in season openers.

The Rapids picked up defensive speed and bid adieu to a tenacious and versatile midfielder on the eve of starting the 2010 season.
The club made official Thursday afternoon rumors that Toronto FC would ship defender Marvell Wynne to Colorado in exchange for Nick LaBrocca and a 2011 third round draft pick.
“Marvell is a great athlete and we wish him all the best,” Toronto head coach Preki said in announcing the move. “He’s been a big part of this club and I’m sure he will be missed by the fans.”

The Colorado Rapids waived veteran forward/midfielder Pat Noonan, the club announced Tuesday.
Noonan played in 17 games with nine starts and two goals for the Rapids after being acquired from the Columbus Crew.
The seven-year Major League Soccer veteran has appeared in 152 games with 40 goals and 32 assists. Most of his success came while playing for the New England Revolution from 2003-2008.
Noonan, who also has 12 appearances for the U.S. Men’s National Team, was rarely used and never seemed to be a particularly good fit with the Rapids. He made …

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – The Colorado Rapids announced Tuesday the signing of goalkeeper Ian Joyce. Per club and league policies, financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
 
The Rapids will add Joyce to the club’s senior roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate. He is expected to join the team this week during the club’s preseason training in London, England.
