Rapids face limping D.C.
Colorado Rapids face an opportunity to add to the club’s promising road record in a Saturday meeting with D.C. United.
The Rapids, 2-2 on the road to start the season, face a dismal D.C. United squad, 1-6-0 (3 points), that has surrendered seven goals at home and scored only two in a 1-3 home start.
Colorado, currently 3-3-1 (10 points), is in a three-way tie for fourth place in the West, though only two points from third-place San Jose and three points from second-place Houston and Salt Lake.
Changing Dates: The Rapid’s home game against the Philadelphia Union at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park has been rescheduled.
The game, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 21, will now be played on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. Mountain Time.
This is the second game the Rapids have had rescheduled this season. Previously, Colorado’s May 22 match against the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park was moved to Wednesday, June 9 at 7 p.m. Mountain Time.
Injuries: Defender Kosuke Kimura is out with a left ankle stress fracture. Kimura has been rock solid in the Rapids revampled backline.
