Casey, Smith training; Results pending on Clark

Two Rapids stalwarts have returned to training, while a third waits on scans to see what will become of his season.
Conor Casey is back on the pitch after missing two games with a head injury. Casey was injured late in the July 25th match against Seattle, and has missed matches with FC Dallas and San Jose Earthquakes. Headaches and blurry vision kept Casey out.
“I feel good,” said Casey following Tuesday’s training. “The head feels good; no headaches or blurriness or anything like that. Fitness wise, I had a good session today and felt ok. It wasn’t 90 minutes but it felt good.”
Midfielder Jamie Smith was also back outside, though working with the training staff rather than take part in session. Smith was a late scratch on Saturday for the Rapids game against San Jose.
“At practice on Friday, we were playing a small-sided game and Julien (Baudet) decided to crush a shot toward goal,” explained Smith. “The ball was coming straight toward me, and before I had time to react, the only thing I could do was put my head down so it didn’t hit me straight in the face.
“I can’t remember much about the session; can’t remember much about what happened afterwards,” he added. “I woke up on Saturday morning with a real headache, hadn’t eaten any food and didn’t feel good at all.”
Meanwhile, the team reported that it was still waiting on the results of a knee scan on Colin Clark. Clark went down untouched during the second half of Saturday’s 1-0 win.
Clark’s left knee, the same one that suffered a season-ending injury in 2009, was wrapped in ice as he was carted to the locker room.

that’s a shame for colin. hoping it’s not serious. …
The way Colin went down did not look good. I am not hopeful.
