DU women’s soccer players Megan Flannery and Kari Storslett were both named CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 for the University Division, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Tuesday.

Flannery has a 3.94 cumulative grade point average in finance and management. The senior defender earned a spot on the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List for having at least a 3.5 GPA all three seasons as a Pioneer, was named a DU Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2009, as DU’s top junior female student-athlete; and has been on the Dean’s List every quarter at DU.

Storslett has a cumulative 3.97 GPA in physics and electrical engineering, and also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors last year. The junior was named to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List for having at least a 3.5 GPA in her first two seasons, selected as a DU Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2009, as DU’s top sophomore female student-athlete; and earned a spot on the Dean’s List every quarter at DU.

The Pioneers head to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed and will take on No. 8 seed Louisiana-Lafayette in Bowling Green, Ky., on Wednesday at 9 a.m. Denver has won seven of the nine SBC Tournaments in which it has participated, including the past four.
