The University of Denver women’s soccer team’s spring schedule includes regional rival Air Force at home, as well as a tournament at Wyoming that features the Cowboys, Colorado and Northern Colorado, head coach Jeff Hooker announced.

“We have put together our most challenging spring season thus far and are excited for the opportunity to grow as a team,” Hooker said. “We will certainly miss our talented senior class and the leadership they provided, but this is a time for growth on an individual and team level. “

DU’s spring season will begin on March 6 in Laramie, Wyo., where the Pioneers will face Wyoming, Colorado and Northern Colorado, all in one day. Denver then will meet both Brigham Young and CU-Colorado Springs in Mesa, Colo., on April 2.

The Pioneers will host Air Force at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium on April 8, prior to concluding their season in Albuquerque, N.M., where they will take on New Mexico (April 30) and Arizona (May 1).

The Pioneers won the Sun Belt Conference regular season title in 2010, going 19-2-1 overall and a perfect 11-0-0 in the SBC regular season before falling to Middle Tennessee in a shootout after two overtimes in the SBC Tournament championship game. Despite ending the season ranked No. 22 by Soccer America and No. 24 in the NSCAA Division I Soccer Poll, the Pioneers were not selected to the 64-team NCAA Tournament field.
