In the name of transparency (and fun), I open up my ballots for Major League Soccer player of the week and player of the month. Will a Colorado Rapids player be involved in the mix?

The starting lineups for the Colorado Rapids and Los Angeles Galaxy in their second Major League Soccer fixture of the season, Saturday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

Wow, no respect for Colorado in the Major League Soccer power rankings, as the Rapids fall one place to seventh overall after a 1-1 tie Saturday at Columbus, Ohio.

Conor Casey scored in the 82nd minute to lift the Colorado Rapids to a 1-1 tie Saturday in Columbus, Ohio, in a match the Crew otherwise dominated.

Colorado Rapids forward Conor Casey, who registered three goals against the Galaxy on Saturday in Carson, Calif., was voted Major League Soccer’s Player of the Week for week three.
This marks the second time Casey has received the honor. Previously he won in week 27 of the 2008 season after he notched his first career hat trick in a 5-4 victory over the New York Red Bulls.
The player-of-the-week award is selected by a panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters. Here are my votes for week three:

The Colorado Rapids will return to Southern California and play the Los Angeles Galaxy on Tuesday for a U.S. Open Cup play-in game.
The U.S. Open Cup game will be one of three meetings between the teams this month. The Rapids and Galaxy had a scheduled Major League Soccer fixture Saturday night at the Home Depot Center, and the Galacticos will visit Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on April 25.
