UNC enjoyed some fall weather in racing past Regis 4-0 in an exhibition match.

The women’s soccer team from the Colorado School of Mines collected its first victory ever in the NCAA tournament as Kayla Mitchell scored her 28th and 29th goals of the season in a 2-1 win against Regis University on Thursday in Durango.

Elena Benavides scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute, and goalkeeper Christine Schmelzle held high-flying Metro State to one goal in three chances in the shootout as the Skyhawks, seeded third, won the RMAC women’s soccer tournament on Sunday in Denver. Regis University ran into a buzzsaw on Friday in Durango as the Fort Lewis College men’s soccer team, ranked No. 2 in the nation, rolled to a 6-1 victory in the RMAC tournament semifinals on Friday in Durango.

Jordan Brandel scored twice, goalkeeper Wally Fink got on the scoresheet and Patrick Bonitatibus, Adam Hinkelman, James Copeland and Nathan Kafer added goals as Regis University wrapped up its regular season with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday at home against Colorado Christian.

Chelsea Reichard, Jordan Miller and Heather Thomas scored as the Regis University women’s soccer team defeated Colorado Christian 3-1 on Saturday in Denver.
