Former University of Denver and Colorado Rapids defender and Colorado Soccer Now favorite Nat Borchers will be playing in MLS Cup 2009 today in Seattle as his Real Salt Lake squad takes on the Los Angeles Galaxy. The University of Denver women’s soccer team ended its season with a 4-0 loss to No. 2 Portland in the opening round of the NCAA tournament Friday night at Merlo Field in Portland, Ore.

The University of Denver will face New Mexico at 7:30 p.m. tonight at DU after beating Air Force in a shootout on Thursday. The Falcons scored twice in the final 15 minutes of regulation to tie the match, but DU goalkeeper Joe Willis made three saves in the shootout to help the Pioneers advance.

Jessie Rogers scored as the University of Denver women’s soccer earned its fourth-straight Sun Belt Conference title, beating the University of Arkansas-Little Rock 1-0 in the finals of the league’s tournament on Saturday in Boca Raton, Fla.

Jesse Henderson and Collin Audley scored as the University of Denver men’s soccer team handed Air Force its first loss of the season at Cadet Soccer Stadium. DU’s 2-0 victory sets up a rematch between the Pioneers and Falcons on Thursday at DU in the conference tournament.

Freshman forward Kaitlin Bast scored two goals as the University of Denver women’s soccer team defeated Troy 3-0 in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament on Wednesday in Boca Raton, Florida. The Pioneers face Arkansas State on Thursday.
