Julian Donaldson’s two first-half strikes proved enough for the Real Colorado Foxes as they downed the St. Louis Lions 2-1 in a game that featured three ejections.

Donaldson’s brace, scored in the 8th and 44th minutes, were enough to see the Foxes through in a chippy, rainy game in St. Louis on Sunday. Ernad Cavka got one back for the hosts in the first-half stoppage time, and before the game degenerated to a 10-v-9 contest.

The two teams were whistled for a combined 38 fouls. St. Louis ‘keeper Israel Becerra was ejected in the 8th minute. St. Louis defender Tyler Nichol and Colorado midfielder Joseph Madigan were sent off in the 49th minute.

However, with the win, the Foxes remain undefeated on the young season. The Foxes, 4-0, 12 points, are atop the Heartland Division of the Central Conference in the PDL. Colorado next faces Springfield Demize at 7 p.m., June 4, at Shea Stadium.
