DU Women Shut out South Alabama

DU women take a victory over South Alabama Friday, at CIBER FIELD with a final score of DU, 7 and South Alabama 0.

South Alabama (9-3-2, 2-2-1 SBC).
Denver (11-2-0, 5-0-0 SBC).

After 40 minutes of playing, DU scored the first set of goals with in 14 seconds of each other.

Midfielder Anna Willis scored the first with assists from midfielders Sara Riazi and Kari Storslett.

Then Storslett passed the ball to forward Kristen Hamilton who scored on a one-on-one play with South Alabama’s goalkeeper Melissa Drish, right before the close of the first half.

Not long after the second half started, Storslett scored again with help form Midfielder Nicholette DiGiacomo, who would also score her own goal later in the game.

Forward Kalie Vaughn scored the final two goals of the game with help from Willis and forward Cassidy Larson.

Overall DU attempted 26 shots, and South Alabama made 4.
