Wolves, Lions inspect their cubs

Robert Kinsey had a hat trick and added an assist to lift Colorado State-Pueblo to a 5-3 victory over Colorado-Colorado Springs in an official match on Sunday at Mountain Lion Stadium that counted as a nonconference victory for the Thunderwolves.

Marissa Davis scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Regis University women’s soccer team to a 2-0 win over Colorado-Colorado Springs on Wednesday evening at Mountain Lion Stadium.

Mountain Lions take commanding lead in Steel & Silver Series

Coury Pitt’s goal gave the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs a huge lead in its rivalry with Colorado State-Pueblo. Wednesday’s 1-0 UCCS victory marks the only time the schools meet this season in women’s soccer, so the Mountain Lions collected all points in the annual Steel & Silver Series.

Our goal at ColoradoSoccerNow.com is to cover the sport in this state like no one else, from colleges to the Colorado Rapids, from the W-League to the U.S. men's and women's national teams.

About George: George Tanner fell in love with the Tampa Bay Rowdies and the North American Soccer League while living in the Tampa, Fla., area in the mid-1970s. He got his first taste of newspapering while following the Rowdies every day in the Tampa Tribune, and from there grew the seeds of a journalism career in which he has worked at the Colorado Springs Sun; the Daily Camera in Boulder; the Durango Herald; The Daily Independent in Ridgecrest, Calif.; the Greeley Tribune; and the Rocky Mountain News.
