Battle of Tigers ends 1-all

Fort Hays State’s Ricardo Yeverino scored his seventh goal in the past four games as the host Tigers tied the visiting Tigers of Colorado College 1-1 on Friday night at the FHSU Soccer Stadium in Hays, Kan.

Yeverino gave the host Tigers a 1-0 advantage in the 33rd minute, scoring on a shot inside the box to the right corner of the goal. The goal was his eighth on the season in seven FHSU games. Dula Fadis set up Yeverino’s goal.

The visiting Tigers of Colorado College clawed back in the second half, notching the equalizer in the 71st minute. CC’s Nick Lammers headed in the free kick from Matt Fechter for the tie.

The 90 minutes of regulation ended with the 1-1 score. After two overtime periods of 10 minutes each, the game ended with the final 1-1 score.
